Fees reduced to promote adoptions today through April 11
Starting today, Young-Williams Animal Center is offering an adoption special in support of National Pet Day on April 11. National Pet Day started in 2005 to highlight the joy that pets bring to their families and to raise awareness about the animals waiting for a home in shelters across the country.
“Our relationships with our pets are unlike any other friendships we have,” Jeff Ashin, Young-Williams Animal Center CEO, said. “At Young-Williams Animal Center, we have many animals waiting to find their forever home and become your best friend.”
From Friday, April 4, to Friday, April 11, Young-Williams will offer special pricing of $50 for kittens and puppies, $25 for adult cats and dogs and $10 for senior pets.
Every adopted animal will receive the services covered by the regular adoption fees, which include a veterinary physical exam, spay/neuter surgery, some standard vaccinations, a microchip with registration and more. The adoption prices will be available at Young-Williams Animal Center at 3201 Division St., off Sutherland Avenue, and the Young-Williams Animal Village at 6400 Kingston Pike on Bearden Hill.
Young-Williams Animal Center currently has many adult dogs and cats available for adoption. Adult animals make excellent pets since many of them already have been socialized with humans and know how to behave. Older pets also are past the age of mischievous behavior, which means families don’t have to worry as much about finding their favorite shoes chewed beyond recognition. Adopting an adult pet also removes developmental questions about how large an animal will be or what the adult coat will be like in terms of thickness and length.
“As an open intake shelter, we take in more than 14,000 animals every year,” Ashin said. “We have a variety of dogs and cats of various sizes, ages, breeds and temperaments to fit the lifestyle of any individual or family. By adopting from the shelter, you’ll be able to celebrate your new animal on National Pet Day and all year long.”
