In honor of National Volunteer Month, Kevin Sacco, a core integration engineer at UScellular, has been recognized for significant volunteer service in 2022. Because of his philanthropic efforts, Kevin Sacco was given the Presidential Volunteer Service Award, a prestigious honor from the Office of the President of the United States. This award recognizes individuals whose service positively impacts communities in every corner of the nation and inspires others to take action.

Sacco volunteered more than 200 hours in 2022 at Remote Area Medical (RAM) and Sleep in Heavenly Peace. RAM is a major non-profit provider of pop-up clinics delivering free dental, vision and medical services to underserved and uninsured individuals. Sleep in Heavenly Peace is dedicated to building, assembling and delivering top-notch bunk beds to children and families in need.

“I am so honored to celebrate Kevin with an amazing recognition like the Presidential Volunteer Service Award,” said Thomas White, director of sales for East Tennessee at UScellular. “Giving back to the community is at the core of UScellular, and I congratulate Kevin on his achievement.”

“Even the smallest service on your part can make an enormous difference in someone’s life,” Sacco said. “When you see a smile appear on someone’s face, you will want to volunteer every chance you get.”

In addition to its Presidential Volunteer Service Award recipients, UScellular also is celebrating National Volunteer Month and its 40th anniversary with 40 Acts of Service. Throughout the month, UScellular associates across the country are hosting volunteer events to support the needs of local communities.

Since 2009, UScellular has invested more than $35 million in monetary donations, technology resources and countless experiences to non-profit organizations across the country.
