U.S. Cellular names Tom Catani as vice president of corporate-owned retail sales

Tom Catani has been named vice president of corporate-owned retail sales for U.S. Cellular (NYSE: USM). Catani previously served as vice president of the national business channel for the company.

In his new role, Catani will focus on adding customers and growing revenue with a continued emphasis on uncovering innovative ways to attract small business accounts across the nation. He will remain in Knoxville and continue to support U.S. Cellular’s customer satisfaction strategy by regularly communicating with customers and associates to ensure that the company is providing the exceptional products and services.

“Tom’s 30 years of experience and leadership in the industry and at U.S. Cellular prove he is the best person to lead our corporate stores,” said Jay Ellison, Executive Vice president of Operations for U.S. Cellular. “He empowers associates to provide superior customer service and tailored, integrated wireless technology solutions for individuals, families and businesses. Tom and his team are dedicated to finding customizable solutions to meet consumers’ needs and keep them connected.”

At U.S. Cellular, Catani has held several roles including most recently serving as the sales vice president of the national business channel, where he led the company’s nationwide efforts to enable and support small and medium-sized businesses and government accounts.

“Tom has no shortage of passion for our business and his community, as shown by his involvement in many great programs in Knoxville, and we know Tom is proud to serve our customers there and across the nation,” Ellison added.
Catani currently serves on the board of directors of Random Acts of Flowers. He previously served on boards of the United Way of Greater Knoxville, Knoxville Area Urban League, Knoxville Opera, Leadership Knoxville and Historic Tennessee Theatre Foundation. He was also appointed to the City of Knoxville Mayor’s Business Advisory Council.

Catani earned an MBA from Xavier University and a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Illinois. Catani resides in Farragut with his wife, Deanene Catani. They have three daughters and two sons.
