Jose “Fredy” Olivares Guzman has been selected by The Tranzonic Companies as employee of the year at its West Knoxville facility.

Guzman, a 20-year employee, was nominated and recognized by the company and his peers for his production expertise and dedication to quality. A surprise ceremony was held July 30 at the facility to announce Guzman as the winner.
“Our production facilities are at the heart of our commitment to provide quality and innovation to our customers, and we’re fortunate to have an employee as dedicated to that commitment as Fredy,” said Brian Rhoades, executive vice president of operations for Tranzonic. “His excellent work ethic inspires fellow employees and helps the Knoxville facility go above and beyond for customers.”
Based in Cleveland, Ohio, The Tranzonic Companies was founded nearly a century ago and manufactures and distributes wiping cloths, personal hygiene products, textiles, washroom supplies and accessories, wiping and cleaning supplies, and safety products. The West Knoxville facility, located off Hardin Valley Road, is the largest manufacturing and distribution site for The Tranzonic Companies.
In 2018, the company began recognizing employees through an employee of the month program, and its first employee of the year was announced in 2019 from monthly honorees. In its first year, the employee of the year was selected by the company’s leadership team; in a process change for the second year, Guzman was selected by a vote from all company employees.
“Fredy is someone that coworkers, company leaders and customers can count on, and it’s an honor to present this award to him on behalf of all Tranzonic employees in Knoxville,” Rhoades said.
