Tranzonic Companies hires Linda Miller as vice president of human resources

The Tranzonic Companies has hired Linda Miller as vice president of human resources for its locations across the country, including the national firm’s facility in West Knoxville.

Based in Cleveland, Ohio, The Tranzonic Companies has been in business for more than 90 years and manufactures and distributes wiping cloths, personal hygiene products, textiles, washroom supplies and accessories, wiping and cleaning supplies, and safety products.

The West Knoxville facility, located off Hardin Valley Road, is the largest manufacturing and distribution site for The Tranzonic Companies. Miller, who oversees human resources for eight locations and more than 500 employees across the United States, is based in Knoxville.

“Linda is a guiding force for our company and has initiated new policies and benefits for employees that are making all of our operations a sought-after place to work,” Tranzonic CEO Tom Friedl said. “She understands this industry and has a breadth of experience in human resources that spans 20 years. Linda also serves as a key business adviser for the executive leadership team.”

Miller’s career in human resources began in 1998 at a manufacturer of precision punch press tooling in White Bear Lake, Minnesota, where she worked for four years. That was followed by manager and director positions in East Tennessee at MasterCraft Boat Company in Vonore and Blackberry Farm in Walland. Prior to joining The Tranzonic Companies, she held senior executive positions at Ministry Brands, a family of software brands in Lenoir City, and Power Systems, Inc., a global provider of health, exercise, sport performance and fitness equipment in Knoxville.

She earned a Master of Arts in human resource management and development from Webster University in Colorado Springs, Colorado; Bachelor of Science in psychology, industrial-organizational development and human resources from Illinois State University, Bloomington-Normal, Illinois; and Associate of Arts degree in psychology from Sauk Valley Community College in Dixon, Illinois.

Miller holds professional certifications from the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM-CP) and Professional in Human Resources (PHR). She also completed the High-Potential (HIPO) Leaders Executive Leadership Program at the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia; attended the Scarlett Signature Executive Leadership Institute at Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee; and earned a Human Resources Generalist certification from the University of Minnesota.

Miller has been a part of the Knoxville community for 17 years. She has served on the board of the Humane Society of the Tennessee Valley, is active in the animal rescue and transport initiatives in the Southeast and has adopted more than eight shelter animals.
