The Tranzonic Companies has hired Jared Douglas as an engineer at the national manufacturing firm’s West Knoxville facility.

He is responsible for building, calibrating, maintaining, troubleshooting, testing and repairing various equipment, systems, hardware and software throughout the facility.

Douglas previously led an engineering team at US Tanx, where he designed, tested and patented a camera system to inspect underground stormwater tanks. He earned a degree in mechanical engineering from The Citadel and is a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army Reserve. At The Citadel, he received the distinguished President’s List and Gold Star awards.
Douglas resides in Maryville and is engaged to Allie Mason. In his spare time, Douglas enjoys physical fitness activities, including CrossFit and triathlons. He is certified as an open water scuba diver and holds a private pilot license.
