Tennessee Theatre to host live band karaoke event

October 4, 2022

‘Something to Sing About’ allows singers to perform on historic Tennessee Theatre stage

The Tennessee Theatre will host a special karaoke event called “Something to Sing About” in October with participants getting an opportunity to perform on the historic stage backed by a live band.

“This is the public’s chance to be a star on stage,” Tennessee Theatre Executive Director Becky Hancock said. “Karaoke is a fun way to both share your talent and enjoy live voices as a spectator. We are excited to host an elevated experience with musicians backing up the singers amid the splendor of the Tennessee Theatre. It’s going to be a fun event.”

A limited number of tickets remain for the Thursday, Oct. 20, event, which starts at 6:30 p.m. The performance schedule is limited to the first 20 people to be fully registered in a two-step process. Interested participants should sign up soon by first purchasing a ticket at tennesseetheatre.com, then filling out the form found on the karaoke event page, where they will choose a song from a list curated by the band.

All tickets for the event are $50 plus fees, and proceeds will support the Historic Tennessee Theatre Foundation, a non-profit organization that maintains and operates the Official State Theater of Tennessee as a performing arts and entertainment venue for the benefit and enjoyment of all. General admission is available for music fans to watch the show, and reserved seating is available for groups of eight people or more.

General admission tickets may be purchased at the Tennessee Theatre website or through the theatre’s box office. Reserved group tickets should be made directly through the box office by calling 865-684-1200 on Monday-Friday from 10 a.m.-3 p.m.

Doors will open at 6 p.m., and free parking is available after 6 p.m. in the State Street garage behind the theatre.
