Charles Catura is a web developer who joined the Moxley Carmichael team in 2022. An artist at heart, Charles designs and deliver digital assets that not only meet client expectations, but also have creative, visually pleasing or unexpected elements.

Charles previously worked for 15 years at JTV as a senior product photographer. He had always wanted to pursue programming, and after exploring options, decided that web development best fit his gifts of seeing projects through to completion with an artistic approach. He pursued additional education and completed an internship before making the segue to a new career.

He performs both front end and back end digital property development and builds, optimizes and maintains websites and other digital properties. His favorite parts of web development are coding in HTML, making functional sites and conquering challenges through creative solutions. He works with multiple clients, including OrthoTennessee, Young-Williams Animal Center and Johnson Architecture.

Charles earned an associate degree in computer information technology with a concentration in programming from Pellissippi State Community College in 2020 and an associate degree in graphic design and animation from Sanford-Brown Institute in Melville, New York, in 1999.

Born and raised in Long Island, New York, Charlie also is a self-taught musician, songwriter and vocalist who performs under the name Charlie Katt. He plays several instruments with a preference for piano. His song, “The Music Doesn’t Judge Me,” won the grand prize at the 2014 Smoky Mountains Songwriters Festival. He also has won and been a finalist in local voice competitions, including the Wild Wing Cafe Voice Off. He is the previous director at large of the Knoxville Songwriters Association.

Charles lives in Knoxville and is the father of four children, Charles, Harmony, Melody and Phillip. He enjoys spending time with them and his girlfriend, Raquel, singing, playing and writing music and participating on the worship team at his church.
