Season subscriptions are on sale now for the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra’s 2019-20 News Sentinel Pops Series, which includes “Singin’ in the Rain: Film + Orchestra” and “Symphony of Illusions with Michael Grandinetti.”
Current Pops subscribers can renew their packages and retain their seats by renewing by May 11. All concerts take place at 8 p.m. at the Knoxville Civic Auditorium, except for the Oct. 11 season opener, “Super Diamond: The Ultimate Neil Diamond Tribute!”, which will be held at the Tennessee Theatre.

Friday, Oct. 11, 2019, 8 p.m., Tennessee Theatre
The Knoxville Symphony Orchestra and Super Diamond pay tribute to an American icon. Patrons will enjoy favorite Neil Diamond hits, including “Sweet Caroline,” “Forever in Blue Jeans,” “Songs Sung Blue” and “Cracklin’ Rosie.”
Singin’ in the Rain: Film & Orchestra
Saturday, Jan. 11, 2020, 8 p.m., Civic Auditorium
Singin’ in the Rain – the greatest movie musical of all time, according to the American Film Institute – featured a legendary cast of Gene Kelly, Donald O’Connor and Debbie Reynolds. Experience the film like never before, projected on the big screen with live orchestral accompaniment.

Symphony of Illusions with Michael Grandinetti

Acclaimed magician Michael Grandinetti will turn the Civic Auditorium into a symphony of illusions as he turns a tuxedo into a conductor, makes flowers bloom and levitates 15 feet above the stage – all to the sounds of the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra live in concert.

Subscribers receive five concerts for the price of four – which is like getting tickets to your choice of either Super Diamond or Music of the Rolling Stones for free.
Subscribers can purchase the second “pick one” concert at a discounted rate, as well as receive a 20% discount to the KSO Clayton Holiday Concert. Subscriptions to last season’s Pops Series sold very quickly, and patrons are encouraged to subscribe early to ensure the best seats.

Established in 1935, and now under the leadership of Music Director Aram Demirjian, the KSO has contributed to the cultural life in East Tennessee continuously for more than 80 years, providing excellence in musical and educational programs.
