“Harry is the ideal fit for our company,” said Jerry Hall, interim CEO and chief financial officer of Summit Strategic Solutions. “He understands the healthcare landscape and has been a successful business owner and senior executive, including years of experience as chief information officer in the healthcare field.

“We welcome Harry to Summit Strategic Solutions and look forward to his expertise helping us provide the best management services to our clients. He has an exceptional track record that aligns with the goals of Summit Strategic Solutions to become the go-to company in the Southeast for healthcare management services.”

In 2015, Herrmann founded healthITstrategy, a Knoxville-based consulting firm that improves outcomes in the healthcare industry by enhancing the use of information technology. He served for nearly 19 years, starting in 1997, as chief information officer for TeamHealth in Knoxville and grew the technology team from four people to more than 200 to support the 20,000-member organization, including 15,000 healthcare providers and 5,000 people in administrative support, as the company grew from a regional physician practice to a national, NYSE-listed company. Before joining TeamHealth, Herrmann served five years at St. Mary’s Medical Center as the director of information systems and at the University of Tennessee Medical Center for nearly five years as director of engineering.

“I am ready to join the elite team at Summit Strategic Solutions and use my experience, expertise and insight into information technology to exceed expectations across the full spectrum of management services,” Herrmann said. “The key to our success is to outperform, and that is exactly what Summit Strategic Solutions can do for its clients.”

Herrmann is proficient in business partnership; strategic planning; digital strategy; agile development, mergers and acquisitions; platform stability and reliability; talent management and development; and complete information technology (IT) program development and management, including IT and data governance; disaster recovery planning; security incident and event management; change management; application portfolio management; and project portfolio management.

Herrmann, who earned a Bachelor of Engineering from Stevens Institute of Technology in 1977, is a registered professional engineer and member of the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS).

In his free time, Herrmann enjoys camping, traveling and autocross, a timed competition among drivers on a defined course. He is a director of the Smoky Mountain Region Porsche Club, a region of the Porsche Club of America, and past president of the East Tennessee Unit of the WBCCI Airstream Club. Herrmann and his wife, Teresa, have four adult children, Erik of Columbus, Ohio; Karl of Washington, D.C.; Noel of Farragut; and Heather of Knoxville.
