South College has extended assistance to Aspen University students who have been working to complete their Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and has entered into a transfer agreement with the Phoenix-based school. While the focus of this effort is in the areas where South College has nearby campus-based BSN programs in Tennessee, Georgia, and Florida, this opportunity is open to all Aspen University students enrolled in the program.
“We want to help these students stay on track to graduate and prepare for pursuing opportunities in nursing,” South College Chancellor Steve South said. “We don’t want the academic ambitions of these students to lose momentum, and South College would welcome the opportunity to help these students work to complete their education.”
The Articulation/Transfer Agreement between South College and Aspen University for the Nursing Pre-Licensure BSN program will assist students who need to complete general education and science courses in preparation for application to enter the nursing major courses. Aspen University announced that it will not begin any new nursing core rotations, and South College has worked closely with the university to evaluate courses with the goal of no loss of credits when transitioning to South College.
Students who seek to transfer must be enrolled in Aspen University’s Pre-Licensure BSN program as of Sept. 15, 2022, and be in good academic standing as of Sept. 1, 2022.
Aspen University students interested in enrolling at South College should visit south.edu for additional information about specific programs, financial aid, and the application process. Students must apply to the Bachelor of Science in Nursing cohorts.
South College, based in Knoxville, Tennessee, has campuses in Knoxville and Nashville, Tennessee; Atlanta, Georgia; Asheville, North Carolina; Indianapolis, Indiana; Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; and Orlando, Florida, and offers online classes and programs.
In addition to bachelor’s degrees in nursing, South College offers master’s degrees with specialization, such as family nurse practitioner; pediatric nurse practitioner – primary care; adult-gerontology nurse practitioner; and psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner, along with advanced doctoral degrees, including the doctor of nursing practice either post-master’s or with concentration in nurse anesthesia. South College also offers certificate programs in nursing from licensed practical nurse (undergraduate) to family nurse practitioner (graduate).
