South College dental program earns elevated accreditation status
Dental Assisting program in Nashville accredited at highest available level
The Dental Assisting program at South College Nashville has earned elevated accreditation status through a thorough vetting process by the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA).
The certificate in Dental Assisting program has been granted the accreditation status of “approval without reporting requirements” from CODA. This is the highest level of accreditation, indicating that the program is fully accredited, meeting or exceeding all of the basic requirements set forth by CODA.
“Achieving CODA accreditation assures our current students and future applicants that South College is offering an excellent education,” said Nick South, campus president of South College in Nashville. “The dental clinic and programs have exceeded our expectations. In addition to pursuing increasing levels of accreditation, we offer programs in areas with strong projected growth in order to create opportunities for career success for our students.”
As part of a major renovation, the South College Nashville campus installed a dental clinic with state-of-the-art equipment to provide classroom learning labs for students and offer community dental services.
Registration is open for the Spring 2020 cohort for Dental Assisting, which starts April 8. South College Nashville also offers a Dental Hygiene program, which is currently accepting applications for the Fall 2020 cohort. The Spring 2020 cohort for Dental Hygiene has reached capacity, a significant accomplishment for a program that is less than a year old.
