NickSouth350South College-Asheville recently named Nick South executive director. South, former director of project development for the South College School of Pharmacy in Knoxville, Tenn., will oversee business affairs for the growing campus.

“In 2012, South College-Asheville opened a state-of-the-art, private six-acre campus to better serve its growing student population,” said South College-Asheville owner Steve South. “As the college continues to evolve to meet the needs of its students, we are pleased to have Nick South in place as executive director.”

Nick South, the third generation of the South family to devote his career to higher education, hopes to help South College-Asheville grow in both student enrollment and program offerings.

“I’m looking forward to serving the students who come to our Asheville campus from all over the U.S. and from countries throughout the world,” Nick South said. “The most rewarding thing is to see students walk across the stage at graduation. It’s a very satisfying moment.”

In Knoxville, South serves as varsity coach of the Webb High School golf team, and he has been an active volunteer with Habitat for Humanity and a member of the Young Professionals of Knoxville.

South College-Asheville, a fully accredited and licensed institution, offers bachelor’s degree programs in Legal Studies and Radiological Sciences; associate’s degrees in Accounting, Business Administration, Criminal Justice, Medical Assisting, Nursing, Paralegal Studies, Physical Therapist Assistant and Radiologic Technology; and a certificate program in Surgical Technology.

South will begin the Georgia Southern University Master of Business Administration program in August. He graduated from the University of Tennessee with a bachelor’s degree in business administration, enterprise management and marketing. A Knoxville native, South will reside in Asheville with his dog, Knox.
