On Monday, Aug. 15, single tickets will go on sale to all Knoxville Symphony Orchestra (KSO) performances for the 2016- 2017 season, which kicks off Sept. 15-16.
Handling fees will be waived for those who call the box office Aug 15-19. Patrons can purchase a season subscription to all series at any time. Single tickets to all KSO concerts will go on sale at 9 a.m. by phone or online at knoxvillesymphony.com. Call 865-291-3310, option 4.
The KSO Moxley Carmichael Masterworks Series features newly appointed Music Director Aram Demirjian, who will conduct five of the eight Masterworks pairs. The classical series opens Sept. 15-16 with music from Russian composers Rachmaninoff & Tchaikovsky. Tickets range from $15-$88.
The KSO Knoxville News Sentinel Pops Series lineup includes tributes to The Beach Boys and the legendary rock group Journey, fantastic soloists such as fiddling sensation Natalie MacMaster and Motown mistress Mary Wilson from The Supremes. Enjoy the live score from the film ‘The Wizard of Oz’ and flash back to the 1970s with Blood, Sweat & Tears. Tickets range from $19-$92.
The KSO Chamber Classics Series includes festive, entertaining music from Austria to Buenos Aires to Russia and will be led by Demirjian and KSO Resident Conductor James Fellenbaum. The Classical Christmas Concert will feature joyful classics with the Pellissippi Variations choir just in time for the holidays. Tickets range from $15-$35.
There are two concert series featuring smaller ensembles that offer an intimate, unique concert experience: the KSO Merchant & Gould Concertmaster Series featuring Gabriel Lefkowitz held at the Knoxville Museum of Art, to which general admission tickets are on sale for $25, and the Q Series at The Square Room, which highlights the KSO Woodwind Quintet and Principal Quartet. Q Series tickets are $18 in advance, $20 at the door.
