Greene Coach to become Premier Transportation

Knoxville, Tennessee-based Premier Transportation is not only on the go, it’s on the “grow,” merging with Greeneville, Tennessee-based Greene Coach, bringing its total fleet of motor coaches to 29 and increasing its employee base to 81. The company’s new location will be known as Premier Transportation – Greeneville/Tri-Cities.

“The motor coach industry is always evolving and seeking ways to provide customers with more travel opportunities while offering the safest mode of transportation on the road,” said Premier owner, Nick Cazana. “Our decision to merge with Greene Coach stemmed from a longtime friendship in the industry and a belief in Premier’s ability to take safety and service to the next level for its loyal customers in the Greeneville, Tri-Cities and southern Virginia areas.”

Greene Coach, founded in 1945, is one of the oldest continuously operated motor coach companies in Tennessee. Five coaches will be added to the current Premier fleet of late model European-style coaches, and all equipment will be updated to reflect the Premier logo and brand standards.

“We are so proud to become part of the Premier team of professionals from Knoxville and continue to grow our reach in East Tennessee and the Southeast, not to mention the Eastern seaboard and beyond,” said Greene Coach owner/operator Russell Ooten. “Greene Coach has been my family’s business for years, and I know Premier will honor those roots while taking the business to the next level with its attention to detail and customer service. I am happy to stay involved in management of the Greeneville office and look forward to personally working with our loyal customers in the area.”

Premier’s priority of “Safety First” and an unwavering commitment to customer service will be the company standards in all locations, as will stringent equipment safety inspections, strict hiring policies for drivers and ongoing training requirements. Seatbelts, Wi-Fi, and satellite TV are among the safety benefits and amenities offered to groups using Premier coaches. The company name change is official as of May 22, 2014.

In addition, Premier Transportation recently added a new 2014 Van Hool TX as the 16th Van Hool motor coach in the company’s fleet. Premier’s newest 56-passenger coach features luxury styling with leather seating and wood grain flooring, as well as the latest in technology, including onboard flat-screen video monitors and 110-volt outlets for passengers’ personal electronic devices. Satellite TV and portable Wi-Fi completes the connectivity amenities for passengers’ traveling convenience and seatbelts add an additional safety benefit.

The Van Hool comes equipped with safety features such as Kidde fire suppression, SmartWave tire monitoring, automatic traction control, lane departure warning for drivers and back-up cameras. This new coach is environmentally friendly, featuring a clean-diesel powertrain for nearly zero emissions to protect the environment and offers good fuel economy for a vehicle loaded with safety equipment.
