Pilot to give free beverages to first responders Sept. 11

September 7, 2018

In recognition and gratitude, Pilot Convenience Stores are offering area first responders their choice of a free Pilot coffee or fountain drink on Tuesday, Sept. 11, in honor of National Day of Service and Remembrance.

Uniformed police, fire, paramedic, emergency medical services (EMS), military and on duty National Guard personnel visiting any of Pilot’s 38 convenience stores in East Tennessee can choose any size coffee or fountain beverage at no cost.

National Day of Service and Remembrance, also known as Patriot Day, was established in 2001 as a way to recognize first responders, carry on the good works started by volunteers in the aftermath of the 9/11 attacks and remember those whose lives were lost.

“Our nation’s first responders save lives and help our families, friends and neighbors,” said Dan Fleming, vice president of operations for Pilot. “It is a privilege for Pilot to let first responders know in this small way how much we appreciate them and the work that they do every day.”
