Pilot Flying J recently opened a Pilot Travel Center in Caddo Valley, Ark., featuring full amenities for professional drivers and the third location of PJ Fresh Marketplace, the company’s new, fast casual dining concept.

As part of Pilot Flying J’s commitment to making life better for America’s drivers, PJ Fresh Marketplace delivers an expanded variety of fresh, fast meal options for drivers. The first PJ Fresh Marketplace opened in March at the Pilot Travel Center in St. Marys, Ga., and the second opened in Cotulla, Texas, in May. The company plans to open more locations across the U.S. in the coming months.

“We hope that professional drivers and motorists traveling through the Caddo Valley area will enjoy the convenience and amenities of our new Pilot Travel Center,” said Pilot Flying J CEO Jimmy Haslam. “Our PJ Fresh Marketplace delivers more food options that are fresh, healthy and quick. Drivers will enjoy quality ‘grab-and-go’ choices as well as an opportunity to sit down, rest and enjoy a variety of hot, home-style meals.”

Located off Interstate 30 at exit 78 at Highway 7, the travel center offers professional drivers and Caddo Valley area residents many amenities, including:

• eight diesel lanes and 12 gasoline lanes with high-speed pumps for quicker refueling;
• everyday products for quick shopping needs;
• premium coffee and cappuccino selections; and
• PJ Fresh Marketplace serving hot, hearty meals; breakfast platters; crisp salads; flavorful sandwiches; a frozen yogurt bar; pizza; hot dogs; and more.

The new facility is Pilot Flying J’s 9th in Arkansas and the 663rd overall in North America. It will provide 100 local jobs and is expected to contribute more than $3.8 million annually in state and local tax revenue.

“We invite drivers to visit our new travel center in Caddo Valley,” said Greg Wilson, general manager for the Pilot Travel Center. “Our staff takes great pride in providing the quality service our guests deserve.”

PJ Fresh Marketplace is yet one more positive step in Pilot Flying J’s quest to make life better for America’s drivers. Pilot Flying J recently spent $50 million to update the company’s network of showers. In response to driver requests, upgrades include more hooks to hang and store personal items; better ventilation; softer, thicker, larger towels; and high-end, “spa-style” showerheads that provide ideal water pressure for a great shower experience. The renovation gives drivers a more comfortable place to refresh and relax before heading back on the road.

Pilot Flying J also now offers diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) at the pump at more than 3,400 fuel lanes across the U.S. to make refueling easier and more convenient for professional drivers. With an investment of more than $165 million, Pilot Flying J has the largest nationwide network of DEF at the pump and plans to make DEF at the pump available at nearly all company diesel lanes by October 2013.

As with all other Pilot Flying J locations, the Pilot Travel Center honors the MyRewards loyalty card, through which members can earn in-store retail and restaurant discounts.

The combined network of over 650 Pilot travel centers and Flying J travel plazas across North America serves more than 1.3 million customers daily.
