Moxley Carmichael has hired Lydia Bailey to assist the account executive team with client services in her role as a public relations specialist.
Bailey graduated with honors last May from Belmont University in Nashville with a bachelor’s degree in public relations. A Knoxville native, she served as an intern at Moxley Carmichael in the summer of 2018 prior to her senior year in college.
“Interns have an opportunity to set themselves apart and show the company what they can do, and Lydia did so last year,” said Cynthia Moxley, founder and CEO of Moxley Carmichael. “Lydia welcomed the assignments and challenges and saw how public relations works behind the scenes from event planning to media interviews for clients. Her enthusiasm and work ethic stood out, and we welcome her back as the newest team member.”
While at Belmont, Bailey served as chapter president for the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA). She balanced academic coursework with community service and completed two other internships while in college with Lovell Communications in Nashville and the Knoxville Chamber.
Bailey also worked student jobs related to event planning, marketing and communications and held the position of PR Associate for Belmont’s student-run firm, Tower Creative Communications.
“I am grateful for the opportunity to work in my hometown and help share our clients’ stories and successes,” Bailey said. “I look forward to furthering my skills and learning from the best public relations team in the business.”
Currently, Bailey is the fourth former intern on the staff at Moxley Carmichael, which seeks to find the best talent in the industry and put team members on a career path to succeed.
Bailey, who lives in Fountain City, especially enjoys downtown Knoxville and the Great Smoky Mountains. During her free time, she takes her golden retriever, Winnie Cade, to Cade’s Cove and on other adventures in East Tennessee. Bailey also enjoys traveling, trying new restaurants and spending time with friends and family.
