Knoxville Civic Coliseum hosts Valor Fights for Valor 47

Valor Fights, which features top rising stars in the Southeast, is teaming up with local animal rescue organizations to kick off its 2018 schedule at the Knoxville Civic Coliseum on Saturday, Jan. 6, 2018, at 5:30 p.m. Tickets go on sale Friday, Dec. 1, at 10 a.m.

The event, called Valor 47, features a mix of the region’s top professional and amateur MMA fighters, including UFC veteran Waylon Lowe and the long-awaited pro debut of Shamir Peshewa. Valor Fights favorites Shonte Barnes, Damir Ferhatbegovic and Jason King are some of the anticipated fighters at this event. On the preliminary fight card, former University of Tennessee linebacker A.J. Johnson will make his MMA debut.

Valor Fights President Tim Loy is thrilled to kick off the 2018 schedule with such an impactful collaboration with animal rescue groups.

“We couldn’t be more excited, proud and grateful to team up with these great organizations to put on an awesome show for MMA fans in Knoxville,” Loy said. “We’re pumped to kick off our 2018 schedule in style and help out a great cause.”

Valor 47 will benefit the following local animal rescue organizations: At Risk Intervention; Go North Transportation Collaborative, a project of Peaceful Kingdom; Belly Rubs Basset Hound Rescue; East Tennessee Boxer Rescue; East TN Pit Bull Rescue; and Pets Without Partners. Proceeds from the event will be distributed evenly among each organization.

“Fighters fight. Inside the ring or outside, they are the first ones to champion good causes and protect the weak,” said Cyn Mobley, an At Risk Intervention representative. “We’re honored to be associated with one of the premier fight organizations as they provide world-class entertainment and make our communities better places to live.”

Tickets can be purchased at the Knoxville Civic Coliseum Box Office, by phone at 800-745-3000, or online at www.ticketmaster.com. This event will stream live on FloCombat.com.
