December 10, 2019

Just in time for the holidays, Mast General Store is releasing a full line of Downtown Knoxville-branded merchandise on Friday, Dec. 13, at its locally themed “A Knoxville Christmas” event.

The celebration will take place at the downtown Knoxville store at 402 S. Gay St., from 6-9 p.m. The merchandise includes T-shirts, tote bags, magnets, stickers, postcards, mugs, glassware and more that feature the newly introduced Downtown Knoxville brand.

“We are delighted to introduce Downtown Knoxville-branded merchandise that reflects the vibrancy of our city,” said Robin Thomas, marketing director of the Downtown Knoxville Alliance. “The Alliance is thankful to Mast General Store for partnering with us to provide residents and visitors with local items that reflect our thriving community.”

The refreshed Downtown Knoxville brand and logo were introduced in June, the result of extensive research with downtown stakeholders and the Downtown Knoxville Alliance’s staff, board and committee members. The brand and logo reflect a dynamic district of restaurants, hotels, shopping, theaters, parks, public art and more in a 0.67-square-mile, walkable area.

“Mast General Store always wants to reflect the unique character of the communities where our stores are located,” said Natalea Riley, general manager of Mast General Store in Knoxville. “The Downtown Knoxville merchandise will be an ongoing collection in the Knoxville store.”

Also during the event, the store will host local authors for book signings, including Laura Still, “A Haunted History of Knoxville”; Tish Pritchett, “The Great Zoo Adventure”; Paula A. Johnson, “Lost Restaurants of Knoxville”; and A.D. Asher, “My Friend the Sunsphere.”
