July 2, 2019

Lauren Miller has been promoted to senior vice president of Moxley Carmichael and will be responsible for strategy, vision and leadership of the firm’s public relations services, including delivery of creative ideas, excellent service and bottom-line impacting results to clients.

Miller, who joined Moxley Carmichael in 2007, has earned four promotions in 12 years and has handled key communications strategies and day-to-day media relations and public relations activities for such clients as Pilot Flying J, Covenant Health and Summit Medical Group.

“We realized early in Lauren’s career that she was incredibly gifted and capable of handling any situation in the communications industry,” said Cynthia Moxley, founder and CEO of Moxley Carmichael. “We knew we wanted to keep her on the staff, and she has earned every promotion with her commitment to our clients, creative problem-solving, high ethical standards and impeccable integrity. I look forward to seeing what Lauren does next for our team and clients because I know it will drive success.”

Miller has been instrumental in planning and promoting signature events, such as the Covenant Health Knoxville Marathon, Pilot Celebrity Pumpers, Free Flu Shot Saturday supported by Summit Medical Group, Big Ears Festival, the Tennessee Theatre’s 90th Birthday and Young-Williams Animal Center’s Mardi Growl and Furry Fall Festival. She is a recent graduate of the Leadership Knoxville Class of 2019 and also earned recognition in 2017 as a “40 Under 40” honoree by the News Sentinel’s knox.biz. Having developed relationships with the media, key community leaders and partners across East Tennessee, Miller is positioned to provide clients with consistent, positive coverage for events, campaigns and company branding. She also supports the firm’s clients with her expertise in strategic planning, research, social media support, crisis communication and event planning.

“East Tennessee is my home, and I am grateful to Cynthia Moxley and Alan Carmichael, the president of Moxley Carmichael, for believing in me, nurturing me and teaching me every step of the way,” Miller said. “I am committed to giving my best to all of our clients, and I look forward to continuing to serve the firm in my new role as senior vice president. We’ve got a great team; we’re growing; and I can’t wait to see what we accomplish next.”

Miller, a native of Oak Ridge, Tennessee, earned a degree in public relations from the University of Florida in 2007.
