Knoxville Symphony Orchestra’s Q Series with the Woodwind Quintet. Members include Aaron Apaza, Claire Chenette, Gary Sperl, Nicholas Johnson, and Jeffery Whaley.
The next installment of the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra’s Q Series is Wednesday, Dec. 13, at 12 p.m. at The Square Room in downtown Knoxville. The 2017-18 series consists of six lunchtime performances featuring one or more KSO ensembles.
The Q series is presented with support from the Aslan Foundation, and this performance is sponsored by The Trust Company. Patrons may purchase single tickets for $18 in advance or $20 at the door. Tickets include a boxed lunch from Café 4, and doors open at 11:30 a.m.

The December concert features the KSO Woodwind Quintet playing Adam Schoenberg’s “Winter Music,” plus holiday selections such as “We Three Kings,” “O Little Town of Bethlehem,” “Sleigh Ride” and more. The KSO Principal Quartet will perform Arcangelo Corelli’s “Christmas Concerto,” in addition to more holiday selections, including Leroy Anderson’s “The Wassail Song” and “Bring a Torch.”
The KSO Principal Woodwind Quintet members are Hannah Hammel, flute; Claire Chenette, oboe; Gary Sperl, clarinet; Aaron Apaza, bassoon; and Jeffery Whaley, French horn. KSO Principal String Quartet members are Gordon Tsai, violin; Edward Pulgar, violin; Kathryn Gawne, viola; and Andy Bryenton, cello.
The remaining KSO Q Series Dates are in 2018 on Jan. 31, March 28 and April 25. Seating is general admission and is limited. Concerts may sell out, and tickets at the door not guaranteed.
