The Knoxville Symphony Orchestra continues its Knoxville News Sentinel POPS Series with The Streisand Songbook on March 16. Resident Conductor James Fellenbaum conducts the Orchestra, joined by guest vocalist Ann Hampton Callaway. The concert will take place on Saturday, March 16 at 8:00 p.m. at the Civic Auditorium.

Perhaps best known for penning and performing the hit theme to television’s “The Nanny,” Ann Hampton Callaway has long collaborated with legendary artist Barbra Streisand. Callaway contributed songs to six Barbra Streisand recordings and even wrote “I’ve Dreamed of You” which Streisand sang on her wedding day. This heartfelt tribute features timeless classics from Funny Girl, A Star is Born and more.

Ann Hampton Callaway has made her mark as a singer, pianist, composer, lyricist, arranger, actress, educator, TV host and producer. She is best known for Tony-nominated performance in the hit Broadway musical Swing! and for writing and singing the theme song to the hit TV series “The Nanny.” Callaway is a Platinum Award winning writer whose songs are featured on five of Barbra Streisand’s recent CD’s. The only composer to have collaborated with Cole Porter, she has also written songs with Carole King, Rolf Lovland and Barbara Carroll to name a few.

Maestro Fellenbaum will welcome a special guest conductor Nancy Bosson to the stage to conduct the orchestra in Broadway on Parade at the end of the first half of the program. Mrs. Bosson is the winner of an auction item that included conducting lessons with Maestro Lucas Richman and the chance to conduct the orchestra live in concert!
