The Knoxville Symphony Orchestra Moxley Carmichael Masterworks Series presents “ALL MOZART WITH LARA ST. JOHN” on November 14-15. Maestro Lucas Richman conducts the Orchestra joined by world-renowned violinist Lara St. John. The concert will take place on Thursday, November 14 and Friday, November 15 at 7:30 p.m. at the Tennessee Theatre. These performances are sponsored by Circle of Friends.

Musical selections include four pieces by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. The program begins with the Overture to his opera Idomeneo, which he composed and conducted at age 25. The first half ends with his Violin Concerto No. 4, featuring Lara St. John and the orchestra. The second half of the program includes Mozart’s “A Musical Joke” written in 1787, and concludes with Symphony No. 31, a popular piece composed when Mozart was only 22 years old.

Lara St. John began playing the violin when she was two years old. She made her first appearance as soloist with orchestra at age four, and her European debut with the Gulbenkian Orchestra in Lisbon when she was 10. She toured Europe at age 12 and entered the Curtis Institute at age 13. Her teachers have included Felix Galimir and Joey Corpus. Lara has performed as soloist with the orchestras of Cleveland, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Seattle, Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver, and with the Boston Pops, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, NDR Symphony, Zurich Chamber Orchestra, Camerata Ireland, Amsterdam Symphony, Brazilian Symphony, Sao Paulo Symphony, China Philharmonic, Hong Kong Symphony, Tokyo Symphony, and the orchestras of Brisbane, Adelaide and Auckland among many others.

Patrons can attend pre-concert chats at 6:30 p.m. in the concert hall before each performance. Guest performers will offer their personal perspective and audience members will have a chance for Q&A with the artists. This is a unique get-to-know-you opportunity!

Tickets may be purchased by calling 865-291-3310 or visiting the KSO website. Single tickets start at just $15.00! Groups of 10 or more can purchase tickets at a discounted rate by calling 865-521-2337.
