The theme of this year’s Library Story Time Program is “Fizz, Boom, Read!” A KSO String Quartet will visit 15 Knox County Library branches between November 4 and December 18, 2014, reaching approximately 2,000 young children and their parents. The KSO Education & Community Partnerships Program brings professional musicians into schools, libraries and hospitals to work toward the KSO’s overall mission, to reach East Tennessee audiences of all ages by providing excellence in musical performances and education programs. This year’s programs are sponsored by Enrichment Federal Credit Union.

“For the past nine years, the Library Story Time Program has been successful in exposing young children to classical music through books and stories,” said KSO Director of Education & Community Partnerships, Jennifer Harrell. “We use sound effects, movement and hands-on learning for pre-school aged children and their parents. It’s a fun program that instantly engages young listeners.”
