KCDC earns high-performer status from HUD

November 15, 2017

Knoxville’s Community Development Corporation (KCDC) has once again earned high-performer status from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) following an annual performance evaluation of each public housing authority across the country.

KCDC’s high-performer status for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2016, falls under the Public Housing Assessment System (PHAS). The designation is the result of scoring across several factors, including the physical condition of properties, financial strength, management and operations.

“Earning HUD’s high-performer status is an indicator that we are fulfilling our mission to provide quality, affordable housing to our residents,” KCDC Executive Director and CEO Ben Bentley said. “This also reflects the overall commitment of KCDC’s staff and stakeholders to perform at their highest level of efficiency and effectiveness across our operations.”

KCDC currently operates more than 3,500 units in more than 20 housing properties.
