Katrina Roberts joins Moxley Carmichael as graphic and digital media designer

July 13, 2016

Katrina Roberts, former creative director for The Daily Beacon, the campus newspaper serving the University of Tennessee-Knoxville, has joined Moxley Carmichael as graphic and digital media designer.

Katrina RobertsRoberts came to Moxley Carmichael in December 2015 as a graphic design intern and quickly established herself as an important part of the creative team. She graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in English from UT in May.

“Katrina’s background with a daily newspaper prepared her well for the fast-paced environment of a busy public relations firm,” Moxley Carmichael CEO Cynthia Moxley said. “She jumped right in and impressed us with her creative ideas, talent in graphic design and ability to support our booming website development business.”

Roberts was salutatorian at Nashville School of the Arts, a public magnet high school for students interested in the arts. She was on staff at The Daily Beacon throughout her college career and was a two-time recipient of the Tennessee AP College Award for Best News Graphic Design/Illustration.

She has donated design services to The Amplifier, the newspaper that supports the homeless in our community, and designed the newsletter for The Joy of Music School, a local nonprofit that provides free music lessons and instruments to hundreds of financially disadvantaged children and teens. She also served as design editor and staff writer for Scoop, a magazine published for UT College of Communication & Information alumni, students and faculty. When she’s not working, Roberts enjoys reading and crafting.

Roberts is a Nashville native and the daughter of Kellie and Jim Highfill. The recent college graduate is in the process of house hunting and says she loves being part of the Knoxville community.
