Kara LaRue, N.P., joins Summit Medical Group

Kara LaRue, N.P. has joined Summit Medical Group at Shults Pediatrics as a Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner – Primary Care and is currently accepting new patients.

Kara LaRue, N.P. has joined Summit Medical Group at Shults Pediatrics as a Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner – Primary Care.

LaRue brings more than 15 years of nursing experience to Shults Pediatrics, serving as a clinical nurse in the Tennessee Air National Guard and as a staff nurse in UT Medical Center’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Lincoln Memorial University in 2013 and received her Master of Science in Nursing from Maryville University in 2020. She is certified by the Pediatric Nursing Board as a Pediatrics Nurse Practitioner – Primary Care and is a member of the Tennessee Nurse Practitioner Association.

Kara and her husband, Thomas III, live in Rockford and have two sons, Porter and Griffin.

Shults Pediatrics is located at 9142 South Northshore Drive in Knoxville and is open Monday – Thursday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. To schedule an appointment, call 865-670-1560.
