“Jeff’s level of achievement, expertise, and impact on Johnson Architecture is remarkable,” said Daryl Johnson, founder and president of the Knoxville-based firm. “He has earned this role in our firm because of his strong work ethic, extensive skills and his ability to connect with our clients while delivering projects that exceed their expectations. We are fortunate to have him and feel his hard work and commitment deserves a leadership position at our firm.”

Williamson worked with Johnson Architecture for seven years, spent four years with another architecture firm and returned in 2014. When Williamson left, he had already spearheaded several large-scale projects, including the $22 million Coulter Grove Intermediate School in Maryville, and proven himself to be a strong and capable leader.

Since returning, Williamson’s impact on Johnson Architecture has skyrocketed. He led the firm’s involvement at Dollywood’s Wildwood Grove for architecture and engineering services. Wildwood Grove, the largest expansion in the theme park’s history, opened in May. He currently serves as Building Information Modeling (BIM) manager for the University of Tennessee’s West Campus Dining Hall, a 73,256-square-foot facility that will have seating capacity for 1,160 people when completed in 2020.

“I am humbled and grateful to be trusted as a partner at Johnson Architecture,” Williamson said. “I want to thank Daryl for being an exemplary mentor, supporting the development of my career and providing so many different opportunities to do what I love. I have matured professionally as a result of the JAI family as we strive to learn from and push one another to be better each day.”

Williamson earned a bachelor’s degree in architecture from UT in 2001. He is a past board member of the American Institute of Architects-East Tennessee and past chair of its mentorship program, which provides counsel to graduating college students as they embark on their initial job searches.

Williamson, who has type 1 diabetes, has served as committee member for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) East Tennessee Dream Gala and was named to the Greater Knoxville Business Journal’s 2017 40 Under 40 class.

He and his family are members of New Life Gathering Church. He enjoys spending his free time with family and coaching multiple youth sports in the Knoxville area. He and his wife, Karen, support local charitable organizations, including Horse Haven of Tennessee, Provision CARES Foundation, Knox Heritage and the YWCA of Knoxville & the Tennessee Valley, among others.
