Johnson Architecture hires Danielle Hemsley as director of business development

Johnson Architecture has hired Danielle Hemsley as director of business development. A professional with broad experience in architecture, interior design and construction, Hemsley will identify new opportunities and bolster client relationships for the architecture firm.

Hemsley is currently involved with Johnson Architecture, Inc. projects throughout East Tennessee, including First Presbyterian Church, Lakeshore Park, Webb School of Knoxville, Clayton-Bradley STEM Academy and KCDC senior housing, among others.

Prior to joining Johnson Architecture, Hemsley had a lengthy career at Lewis Group Architects as a health care project manager and in business development.

Hemsley earned a Bachelor of Science in interior design from Carson-Newman University in 1994 and a Bachelor of Architecture in 2000 from the University of Tennessee. She also is a Tennessee Registered Interior Designer and also held her Tennessee Real Estate license until 2011. Hemsley is the daughter of the late R. Dan Culp, a prominent businessman and real estate developer in the Knoxville area.

An active community volunteer, Hemsley has served on and chaired committees for Thompson Cancer Survival Center, Friends of the Smokies and Covenant Health’s Patricia Neal Rehabilitation Center. She also serves on the Family of Consumer Science Board of Advisors for Carson-Newman University. She is a previous member of the Construction Specifications Institute, where she also has served as academic affairs chair and house committee chair.

The Knoxville native is married to Jim Hemsley and they have three children. The family enjoys the great outdoors of East Tennessee, as well as domestic and international travel.
