McCarter graduated in 2020 with a Bachelor of Architecture from the UT College of Architecture and Design and worked for three years as an architectural associate at R2R Studio in Knoxville.

“Debbie already has considerable experience in commercial, hospitality and residential projects,” said Daryl Johnson, founder and president of Johnson Architecture. “We welcome Debbie to our team and look forward to her continued career growth.”

Since joining Johnson Architecture, McCarter has worked on multiple projects, including private residences in Knoxville and Atlanta and commercial projects in downtown Sevierville.

She has comprehensive knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, Enscape, Adobe platforms, InDesign and Procreate and is proficient in hand sketching/rendering.

McCarter, a native of Buenos Aires, was raised in Sevierville and now resides in South Knoxville with her husband, Jake, and cute bunny, Duncan. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking and gardening.
