Longtime Home Federal Bank leader Dale Keasling has announced that in December he will retire as chief executive officer of the bank and will remain as chairman of its board of directors. He also will continue to serve the bank and its leadership in an advisory role.

Keasling’s CEO responsibilities will transition to President David Reynolds, a 22-year veteran of Home Federal Bank, which is the largest locally owned bank in East Tennessee. Reynolds was named president in early 2016 as part of a comprehensive succession plan and will hold both titles.

Keasling has enjoyed a distinguished career in Knoxville banking. He joined Valley Fidelity Bank in 1973 and was appointed president in 1980 and chairman in 1988. Following Valley Fidelity’s acquisition by First Tennessee, he joined Home Federal Bank as president in 1992.

“There are so many accomplishments at Home Federal I could point to with pride,” Keasling said. “However, I am most proud of our strong commitment to serving others and our community with the highest ethical standards.”

As has become a trademark of his leadership and service, Keasling will remain active with local nonprofits and support the community as a representative of the bank.

Keasling is confident in Reynolds’ ability to lead the local bank’s daily operations.

“David understands and strongly supports the unique culture that has served our bank so well for many years,” Keasling said. “He is a very capable banker, an excellent leader and a man of the highest integrity. Home Federal Bank is in good hands with David Reynolds as CEO.”
