Highway Transport, a bulk chemical transportation company, is implementing an immediate pay increase for drivers that will apply to both hourly and mileage pay across all 14 of the company’s service centers.

“Our drivers are our most crucial asset, and we are committed to rewarding them for their commitment to quality and safety for our customers,” said Marshall Franklin, President and CFO of Highway Transport. “When you drive for Highway Transport, you are a trusted leader in a family that cares about you. Pay is one area we strive to show our commitment and gratitude to our family of drivers.”

The pay increase follows the recent introduction of new technology aimed at to create efficiencies for drivers:

  • PeopleNet, the new fleet management system minimizes data entry and automates workflow and tracking.
  • TempTrack, the new solar-powered location and temperature monitoring system, provides real-time updates to drivers and customers.
  • The redesigned driver app gives drivers around-the-clock access to key information, including logs, employee documents and pay information.
  • MyHighway Customer Portal has been enhanced with TempTrack connectivity and the ability to view, download and print load logs to automatically keep customers informed on load activity.

“We have some of the most hardworking and dedicated drivers in the industry,” Franklin said. “We want them to feel supported, whether that’s through new technology or a pay increase.”
