Dr. Matthew Moore has established his practice and medical career at Gastrointestinal Associates (GIA), one of the Southeast’s leading GI practices.

Moore serves as a member of the American College of Gastroenterology, the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and the American Gastroenterological Association. He is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, and his specialty is gastroenterology.

“Dr. Moore’s experience and leadership in the study of gastroenterology complements the superior level of expertise our patients expect from GIA,” said Jeff Dew, CEO of Gastrointestinal Associates. “He shares in our team’s commitment to the highest quality of care for each and every patient.”

Born and raised in Livingston, Tennessee, Moore completed high school with honors at Livingston Academy. He earned his undergraduate degree at the University of Tennessee and subsequently completed a master’s degree in public health and his medical doctorate degree at East Tennessee State University.

Following his medical education, Moore completed his internal medicine residency at Vanderbilt University and gastroenterology fellowship at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. Moore received advanced training in endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) and single balloon enteroscopy (SBE) of the small bowel. He presented at national meetings and published abstracts and articles about inflammatory bowel disease, deep enteroscopy and capsule endoscopy.

Moore lives in West Knoxville with his wife, Kendal Moore, and 2-year-old son, Cole.  They are expecting their second child in October.
