Hannah Parker Head Shot RGBHannah Parker, a native of Knoxville and former aide to Gov. Bill Haslam, has joined Moxley Carmichael as an account executive.

Before joining Moxley Carmichael, Parker most recently served in the Tennessee governor’s administration as deputy for operations. In that role, she helped manage internal communications for the governor’s staff and also provided oversight of Haslam’s schedule, travel and advance team.

“Hannah’s experience in working with state and local government will be a valuable asset to our account team,” Moxley Carmichael CEO Cynthia Moxley said. “In addition to her expertise in government relations, Hannah’s communication skills, strategic planning and event management experience strengthen our team’s capabilities.

“She has maintained strong relationships with community leaders in East Tennessee and is well poised to hit the ground running, serving our clients and helping to raise their visibility across the region.”

In addition to serving in the governor’s office, Parker also worked for the City of Knoxville during Haslam’s tenure as mayor. Parker served as policy analyst and downtown coordinator in the mayor’s office of Policy and Communications. Her primary role was acting as a liaison between downtown businesses, developers, residents and city government and also assisting with communications and redevelopment initiatives.

“I am thrilled to be back at home in Knoxville, and honored to be given the opportunity to work with the firm that I really believe is the best in the business,” Parker said. “I am truly grateful for my time working in the public sector and am excited to continue to serve the public and our community by working to serve our clients with excellence.”

Parker earned bachelor’s degrees in political science and English from the University of Tennessee, and then went on to earn a master of arts in civic leadership from The Nelson and Sue Andrews Institute for Civic Leadership at Lipscomb University in Nashville.

Parker previously served on the board of directors for the Central Business Improvement District and as a commissioner on the Tennessee Commission on Aging and Disability. She is an active volunteer with Volunteer Girls State, and a self-described “lover of art, music and Diet Coke.”
