Adopted dogs to receive free personalized name tag
Young-Williams Animal Center is offering a special incentive to encourage dog adoptions and celebrate the official start of summer. From Friday, June 20, through Sunday, June 22, every puppy, adult and senior dog that is adopted will receive a free personalized name tag.
“There are so many playful and loving dogs in our shelter right now,” Jeff Ashin, Young-Williams Animal Center CEO, said. “As an open intake shelter, we take in about 14,000 animals each year, so there are a variety of breeds, sizes, personalities and temperaments for adopters to choose. We hope those looking for a new pet will stop by one of our locations this weekend and open their home to a rescued pet.”
Every adopted animal will also receive the services covered by the adoption fees, which include a veterinary physical exam, spay/neuter surgery, some standard vaccinations, a microchip with registration and more. The adoption special will be available at Young-Williams Animal Center at 3201 Division St., off Sutherland Avenue, and the Young-Williams Animal Village at 6400 Kingston Pike on Bearden Hill.
In addition to the name tags, local author Susan Carter also will be at the Young-Williams Animal Center at 3201 Division Street for a book signing Saturday, 1-3 p.m. Carter recently published, A Home for Copper, an adoption story from the dog’s perspective.
“We’re excited to have Susan at the center on Saturday,” Ashin added. “Her book is such a great story of what adopted pets experience when they go home with their family.”
