Deadline nears for Young-Williams Animal Center’s pet calendar photo contest

June 26, 2020

Young-Williams Animal Center is calling for entries and votes as the deadline nears and the race heats up for the 2021 calendar photo contest. Pet owners can still enter and the public can keep voting until July 15.

To enter or vote for a pet, visit gogophotocontest.com/young-williams. Sponsored by Mortgage Investors Group, all proceeds help the shelter provide care for nearly 10,000 homeless, stray and unwanted pets every year.

“We look forward to seeing all of the submitted pictures of our community’s beloved and rescued pets,” says Janet Testerman, CEO of Young-Williams Animal Center. “All proceeds from the entries and votes support our mission to lead the effort to end pet homelessness, promote animal welfare and enhance the human-animal bond. With your help, this annual tradition will once again raise much-needed funds to support our community’s animals in need.”

The winning pet will be able to choose a specified month and photo shoot theme, as well as enjoy a place of honor on the shelter wall for a year. The top 12 pets, voted on by the public, will have a professional shoot with the shelter photographer and their own month in the 2021 printed calendar. All pets with at least five votes will be included on an Honorable Mention page using the submitted photo.

Photo entries should not include humans and should be of a single pet. Photos must either feature a pet owned by the entrant, or the entrant must have permission from the pet’s owner to submit the photo. Only one pet per contest entry is permitted. The full rules are available at https://www.gogophotocontest.com/young-williams.

Entry is $25 per pet, and each vote is $1. Since Young-Williams Animal Center is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, donations are tax-deductible as allowed by law. The 2021 calendar is available for preorder at https://www.gogophotocontest.com/young-williams/purchase.

Contest voting will close July 15 at 8 p.m. For more information, visit https://www.young-williams.org/event/calendarcontest/.
