With registration open for the Covenant Health Knoxville Marathon, set for April 2-3, race organizers are encouraging runners to register at www.knoxvillemarathon.com and view maps that reflect slight changes to the routes.
“Now that the countdown to our 12th annual event is underway, we’d like to take this opportunity to make runners aware of a couple of things,” said Jason Altman, race director for the Covenant Health Knoxville Marathon. “We’ve slightly tweaked the race route to accommodate ongoing roadwork.”
Altman noted that price increases for all races go into effect Feb. 15. Runners are encouraged to visit the website to view new maps and register by Feb. 14 to save on race fees.
Altman also announced that Inky Johnson will be the featured speaker at this year’s Health & Fitness Expo. The former University of Tennessee football player turned motivational speaker will share his story at 4 p.m., Saturday, April 2, at the Knoxville Convention & Exhibition Center.
