Covenant Health Knoxville Marathon calls for volunteers

March 15, 2022

Covenant Health Knoxville Marathon organizers are seeking community volunteers for the March 26-27 races. Volunteers will support elite runners as well as thousands of neighbors and community members participating in East Tennessee’s premier running event.

“In Knoxville, our neighbors are always willing to help each other,” Race Director Jason Altman said. “We are looking for volunteers to help the Covenant Health Knoxville Marathon run smoothly. While running the races is a rush, helping these athletes get around and run the race is just as fulfilling and fun.”

The two-day community event on Saturday and Sunday, March 26 and 27, has volunteer opportunities for all, and race officials specifically are looking for volunteers at the Clayton Health and Fitness Expo on Saturday, at the finish line for all races and at water stations during the Sunday races. Volunteers are encouraged to sign up individually or in groups.

“East Tennessee is known for its volunteer spirit,” Altman said. “And it’s our people – helping, cheering on and uplifting others – who make the Covenant Health Knoxville Marathon memorable for those who participate. Every single person we can get to sign up and volunteer will help this 2022 event even better.”

Volunteers can complete online registration at www.knoxvillemarathon.com/volunteer. Volunteers can choose the choose day, time and task that best suits their capabilities.
