The 15 nationwide finalist cities in the PetSafe “Bark for Your Park” contest want the world to know why they deserve to win a dog park – and if you agree with them, they want your votes!

The 15 finalist cities each have submitted a 30-second video designed to show city supporters and pet-passionate people across the U.S. why their towns should win funding for a local off-leash dog park. PetSafe has posted the videos on YouTube at http://www.youtube.com/petsafebrand, and the videos also can be accessed through the PetSafe Facebook page.

Each city that receives at least 1,000 YouTube views for its video will earn a bonus 1,000 votes as it competes to win a share of $200,000 in funding to build a PetSafe dog park.

“A video is a compelling way for these cities to show their enthusiasm for a dog park and their commitment to being more pet-friendly, especially when the videos feature some adorable furry friends,” said Randy Boyd, president and CEO of Radio Systems Corporation, maker of the PetSafe brand. “Check out their videos, and even if you don’t live in that town, take a few moments to vote for your favorite finalist and help make a city’s dog park dreams a reality. You may also get some great ideas for promoting dog-friendly initiatives and rallying support for a dog park in your hometown.”

City supporters can vote twice daily – once on www.petsafe.net and once on Facebook – to “bark” for their park. Voting ends on July 26.

Local TV stations are encouraged to support the city’s efforts by airing the video as a public service announcement, and all local media and community businesses can share the video on their websites and social media pages to increase viewership and encourage votes. To coordinate a PSA placement, media representatives can contact Lauren Christ at 865-544-0088 or [email protected].
