Daniel Livingston

Asbury Place continuing care retirement communities recently named Daniel Livingston director of nursing for its Maryville campus.
An individual who has devoted his entire nursing career to caring for seniors, Livingston joined Asbury Place Maryville in January as skilled unit clinical mentor and previously served as registered charge nurse at Blount Memorial Transitional Care Center in Maryville.
“Daniel quickly proved himself to be a dedicated caregiver and capable leader,” said Marjorie Shonnard, chief operating officer for Asbury Inc. “As he oversees nursing care for all Maryville residents, we feel confident he will support our culture of meeting residents’ needs – emotional, social, physical and spiritual – and help us achieve our mission of enabling residents to celebrate life in every way possible.”
Livingston, a lifelong Maryville resident and recipient of Alzheimer’s Tennessee’s Caring Hearts Award, says that he was drawn to Asbury Place because of its friendly environment and culture of providing care in a more homelike environment.
Livingston earned his nursing degree from Lincoln Memorial University in Harrogate, Tenn.
He and wife Kristal, have a five-year-old son, Elijah, and eight-month-old twins, Hazel and Sawyer. They are active members of Central Baptist Church of Alcoa and enjoy hiking and gardening.
