Continuing care communities earn third CARF-CCAC five-year accreditation
Asbury Place retirement communities in Maryville and Kingsport recently earned their third CARF-CCAC five-year accreditation.
The Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities and Continuing Care Accreditation Commission accredit health and human services providers based on quality of service.
“Earning CARF-CCAC accreditation is a significant accomplishment,” said Marjorie Shonnard, chief operating officer for Asbury Inc. “We celebrate this achievement and thank all of our dedicated staff who help us fulfill our mission to celebrate life every day, through every circumstance, with every person, in every way.”
The accreditation process is rigorous and includes an evaluation of 600 quality measures conducted by an independent, on-site survey team. Nationally, only 13 percent of continuing care retirement communities hold CARF-CCAC accreditation. In Tennessee, Asbury Place is one of only three retirement communities to earn the distinction.
Both Asbury Place retirement communities offer continuing care, a tiered approach that accommodates residents’ changing needs, from independent living and assisted living to skilled nursing home. AARP recommends that people searching for a continuing care retirement community seek those with CARF-CCAC accreditation.
