Sandra Brown, RN, has been named the executive director of Asbury Place Kingsport. Brown has a long and successful career with Asbury Place, which she joined as a part-time certified nursing assistant (CNA) while in nursing school.
“Sandra has immersed herself in our culture of meeting residents’ needs – emotional, social, physical and spiritual – and has demonstrated her commitment to our mission of enabling residents to celebrate life in every way possible,” said Marjorie Shonnard, chief operating officer of Asbury Place. “With Sandra’s strong leadership capabilities, dedication to mission and clinical experience, she is the perfect person for the job.”
Brown began her career with Asbury in 1995 and has served in various clinical positions with the organization, including Director of Nursing. She has also served as administrator of Asbury Place Kingsport – Steadman Hill Assisted Living.
As Kingsport’s executive director, Brown is responsible for overseeing the continuing care retirement community that includes residential villas and apartments, assisted living and a health care center with rehabilitation services.
“I look forward to continuing to develop relationships with prospective and current members of our community to ensure that Asbury Place provides excellent services that meet older adults’ needs now and in the future,” said Brown.
Brown added that she is blessed to work with an outstanding, collaborative team. “We’re all working together for the good of residents and those receiving rehabilitation services; that common denominator makes for a terrific work environment,” she said.
Brown lives in Church Hill, Tenn. She has an 18-year-old son who works part-time as a server in the Asbury Place dining room while attending school and a 15-year-old daughter.
