The 19th annual Knoxville News Sentinel Women Today expo returns to the Knoxville Convention Center on March 1-3, 2013. Recognized as a top 20 event in the Southeast, this three-day expo is the largest show for women in East Tennessee, and truly celebrates all aspects of a woman’s life. With exciting exhibitors, trendy fashion shows, cooking demonstrations and informative seminars, Women Today has something for every woman. Attendees will be entertained by celebrity guests, get the chance to enter to win exciting door prizes, and shop a variety of vendors for new products and great ideas for home, work and family.

“The Women Today expo is a fun and informative event focused on celebrating women, their friends and their family,” said Angie Howell, marketing manager at the Knoxville News Sentinel. “It gives all of our attendees the opportunity to shop, relax, find new interests, connect with our special guests and simply have fun. We are excited to bring in new vendors and new aspects in 2013 that we think will help enhance the overall experience for each of our Women Today attendees.”

Attendees can enjoy presentations covering topics ranging from beauty and fashion to health and cuisine on three interactive stages. The What Women Want Stage will feature trendy fashion shows, informative seminars and special appearances by our 2013 celebrity guests. Dr. Lori, award-winning TV personality and host from Discovery Channel’s Auction Kings, will kick-off the weekend with her funny and frank appraisal show on Friday at the What Women Want Stage.

Also appearing at the What Women Want stage are NBC’s The Biggest Loser contestants and sisters Olivia Ward and Hannah Curlee. The sisters will share their amazing weight loss journey on Saturday and Sunday at Women Today. Guests will also enjoy Spring Fashion Shows throughout the weekend, presented by Fashion Sponsor Dillard’s. The popular and fan favorite Pet Fashion Show will also return in 2013, featuring adoptable pets from Small Breed Animal Rescue, presented by Enrichment Federal Credit Union.

Foodies and culinary enthusiasts alike can also enjoy the Food City Cooking School Stage, featuring mouth-watering cooking demonstrations throughout the weekend. Attendees can enjoy recipe tips from local favorites, including UT Culinary Institute, the News Sentinel’s Mary Constantine, Dead End BBQ and Tupelo Honey Cafe.

Celebrity Chef appearances include TLC’s Next Great Baker Heather Grubb, who returns in 2013 to share some of her sweet confections on Friday. On Saturday and Sunday, guests can “Party with Martie” when Food Network Star’s Martie Duncan cooks up easy and affordable dishes for entertaining at home. NBC’s The Biggest Loser contestants Olivia Ward and Hannah Curlee will also appear on the Food City Cooking School Stage on Saturday to share one of their favorite healthy and easy recipes. The Cooking School Stage will also feature top-of-the-line appliances from appliance sponsor Pattersons Appliances.

The Conversation Stage returns in 2013, providing attendees the opportunity to learn first-hand about the latest in women’s health and wellness from Covenant Health’s medical experts. In addition to health and wellness tips, guests can also enjoy home décor presentations from Pottery Barn! With three interactive stages and celebrity presentations throughout the weekend, there is no shortage of activity at the 2013 Women Today expo, especially with the addition of the new
‘Make-n-Take’ craft area on Friday and Saturday and the return of the Summer Camp Fair on Sunday, March 3. Attendees can make a special craft in the Make-n-Take area for a $5 donation, with proceeds to benefit the Small Breed Animal Rescue.
