Shoals Ambulance, the new countywide exclusive emergency and nonemergency services provider, will respond to emergency calls beginning Wednesday, Oct. 15. The company will serve the county from its new Franklin County office at Russellville Hospital.

“We are proud to be the ambulance provider for Franklin County and are grateful for the warm welcome we have received from the entire community,” Shoals Ambulance Operations Supervisor Blake Hargett said. “At Shoals Ambulance, we invest in the communities we serve and provide the highest-quality emergency ambulance care available.”

Shoals Ambulance has hired more than 20 EMTs and paramedics to staff its Franklin County operations. The office at Russellville Hospital will have two full-time advanced life support ambulances based at its facility. One of those ambulances will remain at Russellville Hospital around-the-clock ready to respond to calls. The second will be stationed in the community of Red Bay. Two additional ambulances will be stationed for 12 hours in Franklin County during peak times.

Shoals Ambulance also will provide nonemergency inter-hospital transportation to specialists at regional hospitals with advanced life support ambulances and Northwest Alabama’s only critical care ambulance.

“We are glad to welcome Shoals Ambulance to our community and to have their office located on our campus,” said Russellville Hospital CEO Christine Stewart. “Our staff in our emergency department is working closely with Shoals Ambulance EMTs and paramedics to ensure that Franklin County residents receive the highest quality health care from the time a patient calls 911 to when they are discharged from our hospital.”

Last month, Shoals Ambulance was selected as the exclusive emergency and nonemergency ambulance provider for Franklin County, with the exception of the community of Phil Campbell.

Shoals Ambulance has provided excellent medical transport services to communities in the state of Alabama since 2012. Shoals Ambulance is the exclusive E-911 ambulance provider for Lauderdale County and the City of Florence in North Alabama. Shoals Ambulance provides nonemergency transport options to Muscle Shoals and Birmingham, specializing in the highest level of comfort and patient safety. Shoals Ambulance is a regional branch of Priority Ambulance.

Based in Knoxville, Tenn., Priority Ambulance provides the highest level of clinical excellence in emergency and nonemergency medical care. Throughout its national service area, more than 375 highly trained paramedics, EMTs and telecommunicators staff state-of-the-art ambulances with the latest medical equipment and technology.

In addition to the communities it serves in Alabama, Priority Ambulance provides emergency and nonemergency medical transport options in East Tennessee to Knox and Blount counties and is the official emergency ambulance service provider in the cities of Loudon and Lenoir City in Loudon County. Priority Ambulance also operates in Utica, N.Y., as Kunkel Ambulance.
