Emerald Youth Foundation and the Oakwood-Lincoln Park Neighborhood Association in Knoxville work together to build a strong identity for the neighborhood they serve - a large, urban, low- to moderate-income community in Knoxville.
The groups approached Moxley Carmichael - whose co-president, Alan Carmichael, grew up in the neighborhood - to develop a communications plan to help increase the neighborhood's visibility, assist fund-raising efforts, enhance neighborhood identity and promote the goals of the association.
The neighborhood association was so pleased with the plan that
Moxley Carmichael was asked to create a recognizable logo to help
the organization brand an identity and raise awareness about its
efforts to improve residential and commercial property, the health
of residents, and the neighborhood's beauty, environment and safety.
Moxley Carmichael provided the plan and logo design time pro bono
to the neighborhood association.
Representatives
said the new logo immediately helped them build and reinforce the association's
image.
The logo won a first place Award of Excellence from the Public Relations
Society of America and a an Annual Excellence Award from the Knoxville/Knox
County Metropolitan Planning Commission in the neighborhood/civic
association category.
