From Georgia, David Kidd creates mixed medium paintings that feature unique surface treatment and texture.
“This body of work takes its name and inspiration from the mystique of ancient Egypt,” said Kidd. “These paintings are heavily textured, involving the repetitive, random application and removal of paint, creating arrangements and patterns that serve as a visual roadmap.”
His work has been displayed in numerous Southern cities, including Atlanta, Houston and Chattanooga.
Cheryl Warrick of Massachusetts is best known for her richly colored and quilt-like paintings.
“My paintings explore collective memories, storytelling, and inner wisdom,” said Warrick. “I want the viewer to discover the pictorial relationships, ask questions and ponder their own ideas about wisdom and storytelling.”
Her work is part of numerous collections, including The Boston Public Library, Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, The Art Institute of Chicago and Lucent Technologies in New York.
Ann Mallory, a nationally recognized ceramist from Connecticut, utilizes Asian and European throwing techniques to incorporate functionality and sculptural presence into her creations.
“I favor clean volumes, minimal surface decoration and rightness of scale, which promotes a sense of well being, serenity, and interior balance auspicious for thought,” said Mallory.
She has exhibited her work across the nation, from New York to California.
