FUEL STATEMENT FROM PILOT SEPT. 17
September 17, 2008
Statement by Alan Wright
Pilot’s Vice President of Supply and Distribution
General U.S. Situation
Refineries in the areas affected by Hurricanes Ike and Gustav are beginning to come back on-line and damage to them appears to be relatively light.
As a result of this, the spot (wholesale) market for fuel products has begun to relax and prices are coming down to a level where they were prior to Hurricane Ike’s landfall. As this occurs, Pilot will pass this reduction to its customers.
Knoxville Situation
Pilot has received into the Knoxville area today a shipment of 1.2 million gallons of regular unleaded gasoline and has spent the day unloading it. All 39 Pilot locations in the Knoxville area currently have all grades of fuel available for customers. As a result of this shipment, Pilot has been able to reduce the cost of regular unleaded gas.
