FUEL STATEMENT FROM PILOT SEPT. 16

General U.S. Situation
Fuel is available at Pilot locations across the country, and truckers and the motoring public should feel free to travel. Pilot is working hard to find additional fuel and replenish supplies. Pipelines are resuming deliveries, but the bulk of Texas refineries are still experiencing power outages due to Ike.

Knoxville Situation
Gasoline supplies are being replenished in the Knoxville market as a pipeline fuel delivery arrived yesterday and a shipment that had been scheduled for Thursday has been moved to Wednesday. Pilot also delivered to Knoxville 40 truckloads of gas from three other states as the company continues to balance its fuel distribution system in the wake of recent hurricanes. Gas supply should be adequate for the rest of the week and beyond unless another unanticipated market disruption occurs.

Prices on the daily, or spot, market fell 50 cents from last Friday’s levels, and Pilot reduced the retail price accordingly.
