FIRST TENNESSEE GIVES MORE THAN $350,000 TO UNITED WAY
First Tennessee recently pledged $352,880.22 to the United Way of Greater Knoxville 2009 campaign.
Of the total, First Tennessee employees have pledged more than $200,000 to United Way. The employee campaign included 56 leadership givers, who each pledged at least $1,000.
“First Tennessee values the spirit of volunteerism in our region and is honored to be able to give back to the communities where we live and work,” said Pam Fansler, president of First Tennessee-Knoxville. “Our ability to contribute has a direct correlation to our local business success, and it’s one way we can thank our customers for their loyalty and support.”
The 2009 donation consists of employee pledges, corporate gifts and funds raised through special events.
“First Tennessee has pledged an outstanding gift that will benefit the lives of so many people in our community,” said Mintha Roach, president and CEO of KUB and 2009 United Way campaign chair. “We are especially grateful for the commitment of First Tennessee employees to get this year’s campaign off to a great start.”
